Zimbabwe Ministry of Health and Child Care Tuberculosis Operations Research (OR) Training Course 2022
The Zimbabwe Ministry of Health and Child Care in collaboration with Africa University, JSI and USAID invites applications from Zimbabwean nationals for the 8-month long Tuberculosis Operations Research (OR) Training Course 2022 to be held beginning 22 August 2022. The OR workshop has three (3) modules, namely Protocol Development (Module 1), Data Analysis (Module 2) and Scientific Writing (Module 3). Modules 1 and 2 will be conducted over a period of 13 consecutive days and Module 3 will be conducted in 2023 over six days. Participants will be paired with mentors who will guide them throughout the course till they produce a manuscript ready for submission to a peer-reviewed journal. Research will focus on tuberculosis and other comorbidities (e.g. HIV, diabetes mellitus) and may cover disciplines such as epidemiology or laboratory diagnosis.
Purpose: To capacitate staff from Ministry of Health and Child Care, implementing partners, research institution and academia with OR skills.
Structure of Concept note
Applicants are required to submit a one page summary of proposed research using the template provided below:
- Title (Max of 30 words)
- Background: (Max of 2 paragraphs)
- Research questions/objectives (3-4 questions/objectives)
- Study design (1-2 sentences).
1. Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must be in possession of a health-related first degree and a Master’s degree in a health-related field.
- Submit a letter to show commitment to attend all the 3 modules.
Data for the project must be readily available in programme records. Prospective studies will not be considered.
