SCRIBANTE DIESEL MECHANIC OPPORTUNITIES 2022 FOR SOUTH AFRICANS
Scribante Diesel Mechanic Opportunities 2022 are now available. Diesel mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered equipment. Their duties include running diagnostic tests on heavy equipment, test driving vehicles to gauge performance and maintaining detailed records of the vehicles they have serviced. We are looking for physically fit candidates with good attention to detail for the position of diesel mechanic.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysing diagnostic test results.
- Replacing equipment engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
- Running diagnostic tests on equipment.
- Checking equipment lighting systems.
- Familiarity with the specific industry and its equipment is also important
- You should know the basics of Construction equipment and maintenance and be able to help buyers to make choices about what parts to buy.
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
- Performing preventative maintenance.
- Follows work assignments received in the form of verbal or written work instruction
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced on HME.
- The ability to make quick decisions under pressure and analyse all aspects of a decision.
- Improvises necessary solutions and when needed
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the workshop.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Must have own basic tools
- Ability to work in a pressurized environment.
- Planning and organizational work
- The ability to self-prioritize workload.
- Must be medically fit.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of the following machinery – CAT (Dozer, Grader, FEL), VOLVO (ADT), HITACHI (Excavators), KOMATSU (Excavator).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
QUALIFICATION. CERTIFICATION. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 10
- Trade Test Certificate in Diesel Mechanic,
- Must have driver’s license, minimum Code B.
- Safety Qualification would be advantageous.
- This post reports to Workshop Manager and Regional Manager.
