Nasir El Rufai Approves the Hiring of an Additional 10,000 Teachers

Nasir El Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State has approves the hiring of an additional 10,000 teachers into the states education’s board ( State Universal Basic Education Board(KADSUBEB).

According to a statement issued by Tijjani Abdullahi, Executive Chairman of KADSUBEB, the board has commissioned Kaduna State University (KASU) to develop and upload a hiring webpage, which will go online on Thursday, July 21st, 2022.

According to the Executive Chairman, “suitably competent applicants with a National Certificate of Education (NCE) from an approved institution, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B. Ed, B.A Ed, B. Sc, Bd, B. Tech in any discipline from a respected university”) are eligible to apply.”

“The portal will be active for two weeks from the first day it goes live on July 21st, 2022, until August 5th, 2022, when it will be closed,” he says.

“On the portal, there will be a school-by-school requirement, and applicants are expected to apply to schools closest to their residences,” he said, adding that they “will be screened, and successful ones will be invited to sit for a Computer-Based examination at three centres—Kaduna, Zaria, and Kafanchan towns.”

“Only those who obtained 75 percent in the examination, which is the Kaduna State Government’s requirement, will be summoned for an oral interview,” he clarified.

Tijjani further stated that successful applicants must bring originals and photocopies of their credentials to the interview. The originals will be inspected, and the panel will be provided reproductions of all certificates.”

The Executive Chairman stated that KADSUBEB will submit all photocopies of credentials to various colleges for verification promptly.

According to him, successful applicants will be “hired, and KADSUBEB will publicize the names and details of those who have been hired.”

The Board will encourage postings to remote areas where there are insufficient applicants or those who made it through the recruitment procedure, he pledged.
