Nakuru County Public Service Board has invited applications from competent and qualified persons to fill various positions in the County Government of Nakuru Public service, as per Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Section 59 of the County Governments Act, 2012.

The minimum qualification for these opportunities is a certificate.

Job Descriptions

VACANT POSITIONS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUVATION, ICT& e-GOVERNMENT – [VACANCY NO. 05/2022

ECDE Teacher II – Three Hundred (300) Positions – VACANCY NO. 05/2022/01

Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 22,270 – Ksh. 30,020 p.m. (Job Group ‘G’)

Allowances as per the SRC circulars attached to the position

Requirements

1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

2. Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) or KCE division IV at ‘O’ Level;

3. Have a Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education offered by KNEC/Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent. (Teachers who have served for a minimum period of three years in public ECDE centres in the County and are in possession of KSCE grade D–(minus) and a Certificate in ECDE from the Ministry of Education or KNEC are eligible);

4. Be Registered by Teachers Service Commission;

5. Be proficient in Computer Applications;

6. Have a certificate of Good Conduct.

Duties and Responsibilities

I) Class teaching;

ii) Role modelling, guidance and counselling, mentoring and motivation of the learners;

iii) Preparing reports;

iv) Ensuring the safety and security of the learners;

v) Assist in designing, organizing and facilitating play/learning activities for learners;

vi) Assist in organizing and facilitating play/learning activities for the learners;

vii) Caring and nurturing spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic and emotional growth of the learners (holistic development);

viii) Managing ECDE classes and keeping professional and administrative records (schemes of work, lesson plans, daily programme of activities, attendance registers etc.) and ensuring learners’ safety and security; and

ix) Preparing and developing play/learning materials

Instructor III – Fifty-One (51) Positions – Vacancy No. 05/2022/02

Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 25,470 – Ksh. 33,950 p.m.

Allowances as per the SRC circulars attached to the position.

Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable

Requirements

i. Be a Kenyan citizen;

ii. Have KCSE mean grade C plain and Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Electrical & Electronics, Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy, Fashion and Design, Carpentry & Joinery, Metal Processing & Fabrication and Computer Studies/Science/Information and Communication Technology from a recognized institution

Alternatively:

iii. Have KCSE ‘D-’ and Craft or Trade Test Grade I certificate in any of the following disciplines: Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Electrical & Electronics, Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy, Fashion and Design, Carpentry &
Joinery, Metal Processing & Fabrication and Computer Studies/Science/Information and Communication Technology from a recognized institution.

iv. Have an Instructors’ course (MANDATORY)

v. Be proficient in Computer Applications;

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization

ii. Preparing and maintaining schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, trainee records, training and learning materials

iii. Carrying out trainee assessments, administering examinations and preparing progress reports

iv. Ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment

v. Conducting co-curricular activities and maintaining trainees’ discipline

vi. Other duties assigned by the head of the institution.
