GlobalGro Ignition Acceleration Program 2022 – Rwandan Agrifood Sector

In collaboration with Rwanda National Agriculture Export Development Board (NAEB) and the French Embassy in Rwanda, Vitagora is launching it second call for applications for an acceleration program dedicated to entrepreneurs of the Rwandan agri-food sector.

Led by Vitagora, the French agrifood Innovation cluster, in collaboration with NAEB, and funded by the French Embassy in Rwanda, the GlobalGro Ignition project aims to support the innovation and competitiveness of the Rwandan agri-food sector through improving access for companies to new markets, transforming their offer or mode of production, and developing responses to the agri-food industry’s challenges (export, food security, food losses, productivity …).

In addition to the acceleration program, the project will provide training and coaching to build the capacity of 100 early-stage startups/companies and microenterprises in rural areas and build an innovation ecosystem to enhance business and partnership opportunities for Rwanda’s agri-food sector.

Who can apply ?

The program is open to Rwandan agri-food companies with export activities or export development ambitions. Priority will be given to youth (under 35) and women entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs with innovative and high added-value products or services that can contribute to the country’s ambitious goal of reaching 1 billion USD in annual exports revenue by 2024 are also targeted. The program aims to accelerate 30 enterprises into two cohorts; each cohort running the program for 6 months.
