REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 certificate and a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar environment.
Knowledge of clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics is essential Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the MST Grant is essential.

Must have a working knowledge of procurement procedures in terms of the working environment. Skills:

Must be computer literate in (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Be fluent in at least 2 official languages of the province. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have good interpersonal skills

KEY RESULT AREA: Render general clerical support services- Record, organize, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data. Update registers and statistics. Handle routine enquiries. Make photocopies and receive or send emails.
Distribute documents/packages to various stakeholders as required.
Keep and maintain the filing system for the component. Type letters and/or other correspondence when required.
Keep and maintain the incoming and outgoing document register of the component. Provide supply chain clerical support services within the component- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to procurement of goods and services. Obtain quotations, complete procurement forms for the purchasing of goods and services.

Stock control of office stationery. Keep and maintain the asset register of the component. Provide personnel
administration clerical support services within the component- Maintain a leave register for the component.
Keep and maintain personnel records in the component. Keep and maintain the attendance register of the component. Arrange travelling, accommodation, booking of venues.
Provide financial administration support services in the component- Capture and update expenditure in the MST Grant component. Check correctness of subsistence and travel claims of officials and submit to the Manager for approval. Manage the monthly cashflow of the MST Grant.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (761 CONTRACT POSTS)
Period: 24-months/Two years
Salary: A stipend of R6174.90

  1. The Eastern Cape Department of Education Internship Programme provides an opportunity for graduates/
    diplomates to gain the necessary application skills, as well as “hands on work” experience in their respective disciplines or fields/ areas of specialization.
  2. The Interns will be based at Schools, District Offices, Circuit Centers and Head Office in the 12 Education Districts of the Province.
  3. The department invites individuals who have successfully completed a tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in the following disciplines or fields to apply:

  5. Participants who have previously benefitted from the Programme will be disqualified.
