CAMTech Uganda Accelerator Program (CAP) Awards 2022 ($5500 USD)
The Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies (CAMTech) Uganda is pleased to announce a CAP call for proposals. This year’s call focuses on feasible solutions in health. Three winning teams will be awarded $5500 USD each to support their project activities.
Application deadline: August 13th, 2022 (11:59PM EAT).
In addition,
the awardees will receive the following support from CAMTech Uganda to accelerate the path to product or service development, testing and commercialization:
- Winning projects will be officially incubated in CAMTech Uganda’s Co-creation Lab (CCL) for ongoing in-person support.
- Training in grant financial management including financial reporting.
- Participation in workshops held at CAMTech to equip teams with the necessary skills in grantwriting, data analysis and protocol development.
- Access to prototyping equipment at the CCL and prototyping services including 3D printing, pre-deployment testing, and CCL virtualized environments.
- Assistance in planning of project activities.
- Intellectual Property application guidance.
- Access to fast unlimited internet to enable research and collaboration across geographies.
- Guidance on Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) ethics application processes.
- Innovation publicity through different showcaings and pitching opportunities that take place within and out side CAMTech Uganda.
- Access to different opportunities for user feedback gathering on developed prototypes.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Project Principal Investigator (PI) or Team lead should be affiliated to Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).
- The innovation/idea should be in health.
Important Deadlines
- Submission of proposals due on August 13th, 2022 (11:59 PM EAT).
- Notification of the Finalists and their invitation for face-to-face interviews – August 16, 202.2
- Face-to-face interviews: August 24th 2020.
- Announcement of awardees – TBD.
